It’s been a long time since the last update – so this will be a long one…
Clare has been to
I picked up Clare from the airport with the kids – Molly was really pleased to see her – and on the way home I said to Clare that I was sorry that the house was a mess but I’d been a “single dad” for the past week or so.
Of course, in reality, the house was spotless, with fresh flowers waiting for her – she was over the moon and now all her friends think I’m soppy.
Shortly after that we got a nice surprise – a letter from Darren & Steph which we really appreciated – it even looked as if Darren had written it himself, lots of pictures next time please!!
More work has been done on the house, we have a new decking area out the back of the house and some garden furniture to go with it – the summer is going to be fantastic. We’ve also organized a Murder Mystery dinner party which we (and the guests!) are really looking forward to.
Molly is doing really well at daycare and has started to go over to Pre-School – it’s great because she was just beginning to revert to “baby-talk” – she’s the oldest there now and while she’ll miss her little sister (we hope) she’s really keen to learn more. She amazes me with some of the things she comes out with.
Molly was at pre-school a couple of weeks ago and is very keen on one little chap called Joshie – one of the carers told Molly it was time to go and she said “Hang on a minute please!” Then ran up to poor Joshie, gave him a kiss and said “I love you Joshie, but I’ve got to go – see you later!”.
It was Molly’s 3rd Birthday last Thursday (11th) and she has been excited about it for a couple of weeks. She knew how old she was going to be and that she would be having a party a few days later. On the day, Baa-baa rang from
She opened her presents – and as usual the simplest of presents made the biggest impact – Daddy at the last minute got her a talking Shrek to go with her ever present Donkey and she liked that which pleased me.
Clare (and to a much less degree, me) began to plan for her party, getting everything ready – food, prizes and a bouncy castle. In all I think we had over 20 kids there – all perfectly behaved. The kids loved the castle and Clare’s Piniata – though in the end I had to break it open or we would still be there now.
Lots more pressies arrived with the kids (despite us asking them not to) – and it was all a bit much for Molly – she got a bit tearful a couple of hours into it.
Mid-afternoon the kids mostly left, leaving us with the family of some clients of mine that we’ve become really friendly with. We all had take-away together in the evening and Molly fell asleep next their 4 year old son on the sofa – very cute to see.
More updates and pics to come…

Glad you're all well and Molly enjoyed her birthday party. Looking forward to seeing the pics, and one of her in her new hat for my blog if possible. Sorry to be so demanding :o)
